AIRPLANE DENIED TAKEOFF BECAUSE SEAT CUSHIONS WERE TOO BIG
A British Airways plane was stopped from taking off in Italy because its seat cushions were too thick and wide. Italian aviation officials conducted a surprise inspection of the flight from Milan to London Heathrow last Monday and ruled the aircraft had the wrong kind of seat cushions in the seats on the wing exit rows, which are usually smaller to create more space in the event of an evacuation. Everybody on the plane was asked to check their seat cushions, and they came up with 12 thinner cushion, which were exchanged for the offending cushions.
* “We’re sorry, these airplane seats are too comfortable. We’re going to have to fix that.”
* “And you people in the exit rows – no doubling up on the thin cushions!!”
* They also decided the soft drinks were too flavorful, so they had them watered down.
* And then the flight crew passed out 15 crying babies, and the plane was allowed to take off.
* U.S. airline officials are going, “Seat cushions? What are those? We just use plywood.”
