WORLD’S OLDEST DOG DIES AT 217 YEARS OLD

A 31-year-old dog in Portugal that had been ranked as the world’s oldest dog ever has died, his owner, identified as a Mr. Costa, said Monday. The purebred Portugese Watchdog, called Bobi, lived on a farm in the village of Conqueiros with Costa and four cats. He was born on May 11, 1992, when his owner was just 8 years old. The Portugese Watchdog breed normally has a life expectancy of 10 to 14 years. Mr. Costa believes that Bobi’s secret to a long life was good food, fresh air and lots of love. He said Bobi ate what his family ate. What’s more, Bobi had never been put on a leash.
* And he was never scolded once and he was always a good boy.
* Mr. Costa estimates that Bobi fetched his tennis ball 7 million times.
* So much for the dog food endorsements.
* Does anyone else suspect the four cats had a hand in this?
* Attention, world’s second oldest dog – you’re up!
