UBER EATS FOOD TRENDING REPORT

Uber Eats has released its 2022 cravings report on trends they noticed this year in the food delivery business:
– In almost all 50 states, the most frequent special instruction on food orders was “no onions.”
– There was a massive spike in requests for non-alcoholic beverages, a 300% increase in orders of zero-proof beers, wines and spirits. (* Who not only drinks non-alcoholic beer, but pays somebody to bring it to them?)
– Used to be, requests for an extra side of ranch dressing topped the charts. Requests for ranch now don’t even crack the top 20.
– Bananas were the most popular grocery delivery on Saturdays and Sundays
– People were most likely to order spicy food and cannolis on a Friday.
– Requests for sour cream on the side spiked on Sundays.
– The most popular food and alcohol pairings: steak and margaritas; pizza and White Claw hard seltzer; burritos and margaritas; chicken and sangria; wings and beer.
– Some of the most unexpected food combos: Fruit Roll-Ups and hot Cheetos; pickles and whipped cream; popcorn and pickle juice; dark chocolate and tomato salad; pizza and applesauce; sushi and ranch dressing; peanut butter and pizza; watermelon and mustard.
* Well SOMEBODY’S pregnant. Or incredibly stoned.
* Looks like America might finally be saying “no” to kale.
* You can see why somebody would order those combinations delivered, rather than be seen with them in public at the grocery store.
* How many of these were delivered without the driver having had some?
* Thanks for the report, Uber Eats. I don’t know if I could have gotten tough the holidays without knowing all this.
