GERMAN BAKER ORDERED TO STOP PUTTING SAWDUST IN HIS COOKIES
A German court has ordered a baker to stop using sawdust in his cookies. The unidentified baker has reportedly run a mail-order business that’s been selling sawdust cookies for around 20 years. He claimed to have reached out to the city of Karlsruhe in 2004 about his use of sawdust, and argued that he did not hear back from government officials so he kept it up. In addition, he said, the ingredient was listed on the packaging of his cookies. He said he uses “microbiological” sawdust instead of flour, which he purchases from a natural products retailer. He went on to add that sawdust is an “herbal product” that is similar to bran.
* Delicious cookies, and they make great kindling for a fire on a cold winter night.
* Cookies usually attract ants. These attract termites.
* Cookies usually crumble. These split along the grain.
* Now I’m starting to question what’s in those cookies made by the Keebler elves in that hollow tree.
* Meh. Give the cookies a coat of polyurethane and call ’em coasters.
