MAN ROBS TWO BANKS ARMED WITH AN AVOCADO

A 47-year-old man in Beersheba, Israel, has been arrested for aggravated robbery after robbing two banks in the region. His weapon was an avocado. In two instances last month he walked into bank and gave the teller a scrawled note demanding all the cash at the counter. When the cashier hesitated, the robber said, “Put the money in the bag quickly or I’ll throw this grenade,” which was, in fact, a whole avocado painted black. The first robbery scored him $4,450 cash; the second robbery, five days later, netted him $3,300.
