AUDIO: SEA TURTLE RESCUED, TRAPPED AMONG FLOATING BALES OF COCAINE

The crew of a U.S. Coast Guard cutter used to finding bales of cocaine floating on the ocean got a surprise last month: they found a sea turtle trapped in the ropes amid the floating bales. The crew of the cutter Thetis found the creature in the eastern Pacific after a military plane spotted a debris field of 26 packages strung together, amounting to 800 kilos of cocaine. The turtle had ropes wrapped around its neck and fins. From the marks on her neck, they believe she “may have been there a day or two.”
* Or … the turtle is a seagoing drug mule and was supposed to pull the bales to San Francisco.
* Who knew that Crush from “Finding Nemo” was based on an actual turtle?
* Although I have my suspicions about Dory being on the magic dust.
* When they were rescuing the turtle, she kept yelling, “What the hell are you doing!!!”
* No one likes an edgy turtle.
* They released her back into the ocean on a Tuesday; by Friday she was spotted in Sydney Harbor.
* 800 kilos of cocaine floating in the ocean. It’s like a Christmas gift from a really trippy King Neptune.
