YOU HAVE TO PASS A TEST TO BUY A 2017 FORD GT SUPERCAR
Ford has confirmed that it plans to perform extensive vetting on people who want to buy the new 2017 Ford GT. The automaker is producing 250 GTs that will be available for sale at the end of this year, all of which will be subject to the test. The process – which involves an online application – will reward customers who have been loyal to the brand. Ford hopes that the cars will go to buyers that will actually drive the car, rather than keep them off-road or re-sell them. The test will ask questions like how many Ford vehicles a person has owned, as well as requesting information about how often a buyer plans to drive the car. Ford will also probe how active a person is on social media. Applicants will also have to sign a contract that means they can’t sell the vehicle for a certain length of time.
* Sorry, Leno.
* The test involves an online application? Ooo, that’s pretty darn exclusive right there.
* Extensive vetting … you know, like John McCain should have done with Sarah Palin.
* Wasn’t the whole point of Henry Ford’s strategy to mass produce cars? Didn’t that work pretty well for them?
* “Now you can only buy one of our products if you use it like we tell you to.”
* What happens if you turn around and sell it – do you go to Ford Prison?
* Oh, I get it. It’s not really a vetting process as much as a marketing thing.
* That explains the new model name: The Ford Pretentious.
* If this is supposed to make Lamborghini owners not feel so special, it’s not working.
