WORLD’S OLDEST WOMAN WAS A LIAR

Jeanne Calment was a French woman who holds the title as the world’s oldest person. Calment died in 1997 at the age of 122 years and 164 days. However, a Russian researcher now alleges she may have been a fraud. Nikolai Zak, a mathematician and a member of the Society of Naturalists of Moscow University, has done a study of the woman and after analyzing biographies, photos and archives from Arles, the city in southern France where Calment lived, he believes the Calment took the identity of her mother in 1934 in order to avoid paying an inheritance tax. This means Calment would have have been 99 when she died in 1997 – certainly old, but no world record.
* The jig is up, Frenchie!
* Well, this officially now makes Cher the world’s oldest person.
* So does her family have to give back the little framed certificate from the Guinness people?
* She took the identity of her mother to avoid paying an inheritance tax? I think I saw this storyline on “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
* My world is shattered. Now I doubt whether the French actually invented French fries, or French dressing, or French kissing.
