WOMEN IN PARTICULAR DON’T LIKE SELF-DRIVING CARS

Self-driving cars are coming. But how many people want their car to do the driving and how much are they willing to pay for it? A new survey says many people, especially women, do not like the idea of their car making decisions about steering, accelerating and braking. It also found that if technology is going to cost an additional $5,000 to $10,000, interest in the technology is tepid at best. The NerdWallet survey of more than 1,000 people found that just 37 percent of women questioned expressed interest in owning a self-driving car, compared to about half of all men surveyed. The survey found over half of the women cited safety as a big potential drawback with the technology – they don’t trust it.
* Ask any woman to give up control. Won’t happen.
* Another group that’s not crazy about them: hitchhikers.
* Not to mention race car drivers.
* Self-driving cars are like the Kardashians. No one asked for them, no one wanted them, one day they just got dumped on us.
* This is just a giant evil plan to give us more time to look at billboards.
* I’d get a self-driving car if I didn’t have to go in it.
* That’s be great: “I need you to go to the store. Here’s the list.”
* Then I’d just follow it with my drone to see that everything worked out okay.
* PHONE TOPIC: Ladies – would you trust a self-driving car?
