WOMEN HAVE BETTER MEMORY OF EVENTS; MEN BETTER AT DIRECTIONS

Who has the better memory, a woman or a man? A new study, published in the journal Psychological Bulletin, finds that when it comes to specific events, women have better recall. But men are better at remembering directions. A research group with the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden looked at numerous memory studies conducted over three decades. The results show that there is a slight female advantage in episodic memory. Men, on the other hand, are good at remembering information involving spatial processing, such as how to find their way back from one location to another and also recollecting abstract images. So if she tells you, “I told you so,” believe her. And if he tells you, “This is the right way,” follow him.
* Right now, every man or woman listening to this show is going, “See???”
* Interesting sidelight: Neither men or women will remember this study by Friday.
* This may be, but I have a very bad memory of sitting through “Cats” and listening to that song “Memories”.
* Thanks, Karolinska Institutet, but what I really need is help remembering where I left my glasses.
