WOMAN STEALS YOKO ONO’S ROCK FROM ART EXHIBIT

A $17,000 rock was stolen from the Gardiner Museum in Toronto. It happened back on March 12. The rock – a rounded rock, about the size of your hand – is part of an art exhibit by Yoko Ono. The room is filled with beach rocks. Some of the rocks are signed by Yoko. The purloined pebble reads “love yourself”. Officials say the exhibit is interactive – the rocks are on the floor and people can walk up to them and pick them up and meditate on them. The intention is that the rocks are then put back down, but one woman, described as 55-60 years of age, just picked it up and walked away with it.
* Perhaps the instructions from the museum were not clear.
* The main thing that goes through your mind while meditating is, “This is worth $17,000?”
* The great thing about Yoko is the amount of effort she puts into her art.
