WOMAN RECOGNIZES MEOW OF MISSING CAT OVER THE PHONE

Rachael Lawrence, from Braintree, in the United Kingdom, has been reunited with her cat, Barnaby, after it went missing eight months ago. Rachel called her pet’s veterinary office to check on her 11-month-old cat, Torvi, who was just coming out of surgery. In the background, she heard a cat with a distinctive yowl, and it sounded very familiar. She asked the doctor about that cat and was told it was just a stray they had brought in a week ago. She asked if it was black and had a distinct white patch on its back foot – which the vet confirmed. She went to pick up Torvi, bringing along photos of the missing Barnaby, and – lo and behold, skinnier with “loads of scabs” and “missing fur” – it was him. Rachel said, “I cried. I’m talking snot bubble cries. I was howling.”
* Thanks for that little descriptive flourish at the end with the snot bubbles.
* A mother always knows.
* The vet, of course, then sold her a 60 dollar pet tracking chip. Everybody wins!
* It sounds amazing, but remember – England is, like, the size of Massachusetts.
* Torvi must be just THRILLED to have another cat back in the house.
