WOMAN ORDERS POISONOUS MUSHROOM AT FANCY RESTAURANT, DIES

A woman ordered the rice and morchella fungi dish at the Michelin-starred RiFF restaurant in Valencia, Spain, on Saturday. The mushrooms she ordered can be poisonous if not carefully cooked. They weren’t. María Jesús Fernández Calvo, 46, was celebrating her husband’s birthday at the eatery known for ‘innovative’ cuisine alongside their 10-year-old son. She died on Sunday morning after bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. Eleven more customers who ate at Riff on Saturday, including Ms. Fernandez Calvo’s husband and son, came down with similar symptoms. The restaurant has closed while authorities investigate the death.
* Not even the drive-thru is open.
* “Senora, how would you like your poisonous mushrooms – poisonous, medium-poisonous, or maybe poisonous?”
* “I don’t understand! This usually only happens with the puffer fish!”
* They didn’t even get to enjoy the free little cake for dad’s birthday.
* Just curious – how many Michelin stars do you lose for killing a customer?
