WOMAN MISTAKES LIVE TASMANIAN DEVIL FOR DOG TOY
A woman in Hobart, Australia, on the island state of Tasmania, was in her home, saw one her dog’s toys – a plush Tasmania devil toy – on the floor and bent over to pick it up. It jumped up and shot under the couch. It was a live Tasmanian devil, said Kirsten Lynch. She let out a scream that woke up her family. The Tasmanian devil is the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial. It can grow to around the size of a large house cat, and is easily fooled by talking rabbits. Lynch believes believes the animal made its way into the house by following their family’s new puppy inside after it went outdoors for a bathroom break. The house is situated beside undeveloped bushland. Lynch’s husband was able to get the critter out of their home using a broom.
* Good. More room for the poisonous snakes, toads and spiders.
* Better the Tasmanian devil you know than the Tasmanian devil you don’t.
* And, let’s just add, that’s a heck of a dog you’ve got there, Kirsten. Very alert.
