WOMAN ATTACKED WITH HAT FULL OF GLUE

A woman in Valencia, Spain, was the victim of a bizarre attack – a stranger slapped a hat full of glue over her head. 31-year-old Marcela Tascon, who is originally from Colombia, was at home Thursday of last week when a stranger knocked on her door saying she had received a gift. The man was holding flowers. He threw the flowers at her feet, called her a name, and slammed the hat full of glue over her head. Marcela was taken to hospital where she had to get her hair shaved off to treat second-degree burns caused by the abrasive substance used in the attack. The doctor told her that this kind of attack is very common in Colombia, where it is called ‘doing the shampoo’. He said it is commonly ordered by jealous wives after finding out their husbands had cheated on them. Marcela, who owns a beauty salon, had been receiving suspicious calls from a woman who she does not know, but recognizes that she has a Colombian accent. A police investigation is ongoing.
