WALMART BRINGS BACK GREETERS

Walmart is bringing back its greeters. As you know, these are usually older people who greet arriving customers and answer questions, and also check receipts of departing shoppers to cut down on shoplifting. The store expects to fill about 9,000 of these new hourly positions with people that are trained to both welcome customers as soon as they walk in and also help deter would-be shoplifters. “Customers said they liked easily spotting someone to go to for help and advice,” said the company.
* Oh great, this is just the idea we need to turn the economy around.
* That 19 trillion dollar debt will be gone in no time.
* Well, at least there’ll be SOMETHING in Walmart that didn’t come from China.
* With ideas like this, that Walmart CEO certainly deserves the 25.6 million dollars he made last year.
* The greeters are also supposed to deal with shoplifters so it’s kind of a Greet and Beat.
* With an average age of 76, they could maybe detain a shoplifting sloth.
* Personally, I don’t like talking to someone on the way in. I’m already embarrassed enough to be there.
