VETS FIX SHARK WITH PROLAPSED RECTUM

And you think your job sucks: A nurse shark in an aquarium in Nanning, China received underwater surgery for a prolapsed rectum. A staff member at the aquarium said the 8-foot-long shark had eaten too many fish in the tank and suffered obstructed bowel movement, and then “defecated hard,” and its rectum popped out. A medical team set up an operating table in a pool for the shark, anesthetized it, shoved the rectum back in and stitched. The operation went well, and the shark is recovering.
