VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIALS FOR TRAVELERS
If you’re traveling today, Valentine’s Day, airports and airlines have some special promotions sweeten the journey.
– You can get a marriage licenses at the Las Vegas airport. The Clark County clerk’s office will once again set up a temporary office thru Saturday, Feb. 16 in the baggage claim area. Couples who fill out a marriage license pre-application online receive a reference number to present – along with a $77 fee – and you’ll get your marriage license at the airport. From there it’s an easy trip into town for a marriage ceremony at a Vegas chapel.
– At Asheville Regional Airport in North Carolina, a team of therapy pets will staff a “Smooches from Pooches” kissing booth in the terminal and by the gates. Travelers can stop by to get pictures taken with one of the therapy dogs.
– At Austin, Texas International Airport passengers are invited to play Valentine’s Day Plinko and “Snag A Valentine” at various spots in the terminal to win cookies and candy prizes.
– At George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, travelers can pick up “Act of Kindness” cards with directions for performing “kindness missions” such as giving a rose to an airport employee or buying a coffee or meal for another traveler.
– At Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Sarah’s Candies will be handing out samples of Godiva chocolates between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
– London’s Heathrow airport is offering live music, a roving caricaturist to sketch travelers, and Valentine’s Day card-making stations
– At Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, several shops will be offering samples of “Unreal” Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.
– Southwest Airlines will serve adults one free beer, wine, or a cocktail during Valentine’s Day flights.
– Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) plans to give out 150,000 complimentary chocolates.
– If your name is named Valentine, Wow Air will give you a free flight to Iceland from one of four available locations in the U.S.
* And United Airlines is giving out a free chocolate bar to any passenger they smack around and drag off the plane.
* TSA agents are offering a free “extra frisky” pat-down to all passengers today.
* The list was looking pretty grim ’til they got to the free booze and chocolate.
* Baggage handlers in many airports will be leaving Hershey Kisses inside your suitcase. They say to look for them where your camera or other valuables were when you packed them.
* A free flight to Iceland. Prices for return trips – doubled.
