TOOTH FAIRY GETTING STINGIER

The tooth fairy is getting stingier. According to Delta Dental Plans Association, a tooth under the pillow brought an average of $3.70 per lost tooth last year, down 43 cents from 2017. It’s the second straight year the tooth fairy has paid out less than the previous year. As recently as 2016, the tooth fairy paid out $4.66 per tooth. That’s a drop of almost 21 percent in two years.

* When I was a kid, I got a quarter for a tooth. That sounds like a Charles Dickens novel now.
