THIS YEAR'S FIRST "COPS SHUT DOWN LEMONADE STAND" STORY

In Overton, Texas, sisters Andria and Zoey Green had already earned $25 selling lemonade for 50 cents a cup and “Kettle Korn” for $1 a bag when cops busted them for not taking out the proper permits. The girls were trying to raise enough money to take their dad to Splash Kingdom water park for Father’s Day. “We were doing just fine until the cops came,” Andria, 7, said. Overton police Chief Clyde Carter said: “We have to follow by the state health guidelines. They have to have a permit if they’re going to do the lemonade stands.”
* Then he kicked a dog.
* “That’s some mighty fine policin’ there, Clyde!”
* Good thing the girls didn’t have bikinis on or they would have been rolled.
* Time to try Kickstarter.
* When are we going to learn in this country. Unauthorized lemonade stands will not be tolerated!
* Besides, if we let this go the girls could move on to selling popsicles.
* That makes lemonade a gateway to a life of crime.
* Look, if the girls want a break from the authorities, they have to become a big corporation. That’s how our system works.
* Don’t worry. This is where a pissed off public donates to the girls and they come out with thousands.
