THE WD-40 CREAKY DOOR APP FOR HALLOWEEN

WD-40 – the oil company – says there’s one time of year when you WANT your door to squeak, and that’s Halloween. So, the company has come up with an app for your phone that you turn on, then hang the phone on the door. When you open the door and the phone senses motion, it makes the sound of a creaky door. It’s called the WD-40 Haunted Door App, available on the App store and on Google play. (Audio clip of the squeaky door below.)
* All in glorious, pinhead-speaker smartphone sound!
* You should be able to keep your phone on the door for at least three minutes before you begin to suffer from withdrawal.
* After ten plays of the creaky door sound, Siri pipes up and says “When are you going to oil this door, you schmuck?”
* The only question is how did we make it this far without this?
* I don’t see children saying, “Let’s skip the candy at this house. The door’s too quiet.”
* Of course, as you get older the creaky sound is from your joints.
* A “Haunted Door”? Sorry, a haunted door would open and close by itself. This is just lazy home maintenance.
* One other thing: If you’re hanging the phone on the door, make sure it’s on the inside.
* I know that seems obvious, but – trust me – nothing is obvious anymore.
