THE QUEEN’S GIN
The Royal Collection Trust, the group who manages all the royal tourism sites in the UK, is now selling a premium gin made with ingredients sourced from the Buckingham Palace garden. The Royal Household department announced the sale of the spirit on Monday, with 23-ounce bottles of the gin currently retailing for about $50 (£40). Named “Buckingham Palace Small Batch Dry Gin”, the regal gin is infused with citrus and herbal notes, derived from 12 botanicals – several collected from the London palace’s garden – such as lemon verbena, hawthorn berries, bay leaves and mulberry leaves.
* With a hint of dog urine from Queen Elizabeth’s beloved corgis, who like to frolic in the gardens.
* Mmmm! Gin with bay leaves! That explains the lasagna flavor.
* A couple of snorts of this and the Queen starts yelling “Off with her head!” until she becomes drowsy for nap time.
* Meanwhile, Prince Philip sits in the bathtub drinking Chivas Regal out of the bottle with a straw.
