THE PURPLE SHAMPOO CHALLENGE

The latest dumbass thing happening on the internet is the “Purple Shampoo Challenge.” Currently taking off on TikTok, people are pouring a full $10 bottle of purple Clairol Professional’s Shimmer Lights shampoo onto their heads in the hopes of changing the appearance of their hair. For the past few days, teens have been posting videos of themselves using excessive amounts of purple shampoo on dry hair. The thinking is that it will turn their hair icy blonde once washed, while others think it will turn their hair purple. It doesn’t work that way. The only thing it might do it make your hair a little less blonde, but only if you’re a blonde.
* But by all means, keep trying, says Clairol’s marketing department.
* A shampoo challenge? Seriously, America? You’re not even TRYING anymore!
* You dummies, people aren’t tuning in for the shampoo, they’re tuning in for the teens in the shower.
