THE POOP MAP APP

On Wednesday morning, the number one app on the Apple App Store charts for free apps in Australia was the Poop Map. It keeps track of and rates the places you’ve, uh, delivered. And then, you can share your experience with your friends, and your friends can share their experience with you. According to the app info, “By pressing the button ‘Drop the poop’, you’ll mark your location. Expand everywhere and show your friends all the places you’ve pooped.” The app was developed by a guy named Nino Uzelac. He said the app had been briefly removed after it went viral on TikTok – somebody named Brandi Bridges posted a video of the app. There was such a surge in downloads that Apple thought he was trying to game the system. It had been getting negligible downloads until the TikTok video, and overnight it shot to over 100,000 downloads.
