THE NEW $10 BILL: ELEANOR ROOSEVELT LEADS IN THE POLLS

According to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Wednesday, more than one in four Americans are hoping the soon-to-be redesigned $10 bill will feature former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, The poll showed the former first lady in first place with 27 percent, trailed by African-American abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who received 17 percent of 1,249 votes, and Native American explorer Sacagawea, who received 13 percent. The bill, which will be the first designed under a new theme of democracy, is set to be released in 2020.
* If they go with Eleanor Roosevelt, all they’ll have to do is add a string of pearls around Hamilton’s neck.
* I think the $10 bill portrait should be Mr. Moneybags from the Monopoly game.
* But if it has to be a woman from history, I vote for Ann-Margaret from the 1960’s.
* She got 27% of 1,249 votes – or what politicians call “a mandate from the people.”
