A new survey from OnePoll found the Top 10 Slang Words Americans are tired of hearing:
1. GOAT (“greatest of all time”)
2. Bae (“my baby”)
3. Hangry (angry because you’re hungry)
4. GuccI (When everything is fine, you say, “Everything’s Gucci.”)
5. Ghost (To avoid someone)
6. Fleek (when something looks exceptiionally good, it’s “on fleek”)
7. Stussy (a style that’s between gangsta-ghetto, and preppy)
8. TFW ( “that feeling when”)
9. Throw shade (to insult)
10. SMH (“shaking my head”)
11. Totes (“totally”)
12. Clap back (a sassy comeback)
13. Turn up/turnt (when someone is excessively excited)
14. Peeped (a sexual act)
15. Thirsty (overly eager for something)
16. Lit (when something is excessively good)
17. Spill the tea/sipping tea (gossiping)
18. Fam (your family)
19. Snack (someone who looks good at the moment)
20. Trill (a term of respect, when someone is true and real)
* Whoops – sorry! All these words just went out of usage while we were talking about them.
* If my children are listening, (daddy’s/mommy’s) got some new words to use at the dinner table tonight!
* All I know is I am totes turnt for a Snickers because I am thirsty on fleek hangry.
