THE MAN WITH THE LEECH UP HIS NOSE

A doctor in China pulled a live leech from a patient’s nose where it had been living for two weeks. The 51-year-old man had been having nosebleeds for 10 days non-stop. His wife said she had seen something peek out of his nostrils. The doctor checked and saw something in his right nostril, and then saw something in his left nostril that suddenly disappeared. He was able to reach into the man’s nostril and pull out the wriggling, writhing 5-inch critter. The extraction was filmed by a nurse. It was not entirely clear how the patient acquired the leech, but it likely entered his nostrils while he swam in a river.
