THE FISHER-PRICE CHARCUTERIE BOARD FOR TOTS

The latest faux outrage is aimed at Fisher-Price toys and their new plastic dinner party charcuterie board playset, “Snacks for Two”. Designed for pre-schoolers, the 17-piece pretend nosh kit includes fake plastic cheese, grapes, salami and crackers; fabric napkins, faux-marble plates, a cutting board and a tiny toy knife. The cheese is squishable, and the grapes pop on and off their stems. The toy is sparking controversy online, with detractors slamming it as “snooty.” One Twitter user says, “This is the most bougie toy I’ve ever seen.”
* Recommended for ages pretentious-and-up.
* Is this for pre-schoolers or prep-schoolers?
* It’s the first toy for toddlers where every single piece is a choking hazard.
* The box does have one warning: “While holding your snacks, remember to keep pinkies fully extended.”
* Plastic cheese – like the kind you get on ball park nachos?
