THE DOG PHONE
A professor at the University of Glasgow in Scotland has invented what she calls The DogPhone. Dr. Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas says the DogPhone is a way for a dog to call its owner, by picking up and shaking a ball fitted with an accelerometer. When the accelerometer senses movement, it initiates a video call on a laptop, programmed to call the owner in a video chat. The dog and owner can see each other.
* Well, there’s another thing to spend $200 on that your dog will never use.
* Oh, and the dog has to have its own dedicated laptop too, so add another $1300 or so.
* You can keep this next to your Dog Music CDs and Dog DVDs and your Dog Automatic Feeder and your Dog GoPro Camera Collar and your Dog Automatic Ball Thrower.
* “Hi, Rinny, what’s up.” “Oh, not much. Just called to bark.”
* Of course, there’s no CatPhone ’cause cats would just constantly ghost you.
