THE DISGUSTING FOOD MUSEUM

Malmö, Sweden will soon be home to the new Disgusting Food Museum. Dr. Samuel West, the American behind the Museum of Failure – collection of things that failed spectacularly – has created a new exhibition bringing 80 of the world’s most disgusting foods to to one place. Dr. West says: “You can taste, smell, and in certain cases, even touch the food.” The museum opens on October 31st and will run until the end of January. Here are some of the exhibits at the Disgusting Food Museum:
– Roasted guinea pig from Peru
– Sweden’s fermented herring
– Fruit bat soup from Guam
– Maggot cheese from Sardinia
– Kaleh pacheh, which means “head and hoof soup”.
– Thailand Durian fruit, which smells like rotting flesh
– Mouse wine
– Kopi luwak, or civet coffee, brewed from coffee cherries that have been eaten and pooped out by the Asian palm civet.
– Iceland’s rotten shark
– Kumis, which is fermented horse’s milk
– Jell-o salad (really, this is in the museum!)
– Raw bull penis
* Well, Spam dodged a bullet.
* This place has got nothing on the coffee they’ve got here at the station.
* Be sure to enjoy lunch at the museum’s restaurant. It’s an Arby’s.
* If the Disgusting Food Museum fails, he can just move it into his Museum of Failure.
* At least Anthony Bourdain didn’t have to see this.
* PHONE TOPIC: What would you put in the Disgusting Food Museum? Scrapple? Pickled pig’s feet? Twinkies?
