THE BROOM-STANDING TRICK

For some reason, on Monday the internet was abuzz with the news that that day, January 10th, was the one day of the year that the planets and stars and gravity were all in alignment, and it was the one day that you could balance a broom on the floor. Next thing you know, the internet was flooded with picture of brooms balanced upright. Well, on Tuesday, it took NASA to release a statement that you can balance a broom on pretty much any day of the year because the center of gravity is low, and the bristles act like a tripod.
* First of all, what is this “broom” you speak of?
* Sorry, I don’t do a whole lot of housekeeping.
* It shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to tell us that, but in this case it did.
* Golly, Americans are a gullible bunch. But enough about politics.
* Meanwhile, the brainiacs at NASA have a suggestion about what these morons can do with their brooms.
