TEACHER SUSPENDED FOR QUESTIONABLE BEHAVIOR
A Jacksonville, Florida, teacher who asked students about their sexuality, allegedly cursed at them, and told students she hates white people doesn’t understand why she’s serving a 15-day unpaid suspension. “They’ve never even met with me and told me what I’ve done wrong,” teacher Kelly Hendrix said. “I teach 165 kids this year. They pulled me out of the class because of one complaint. One complaint,” she said. “I love it. I love it. And now it’s over for me.” It was actually little more than one complaint. In a report, the school reveals exactly why she’s on teacher time-out.
– Students told officials Ms. Hendrix cursed at them, said she hates white people (Hendrix is herself white), and would use racially insensitive terms in class.
– Hendrix reportedly asked students about their sexuality, used homophobic insults, and threatened to issue a failing grade if they reported her antics.
– Hendrix alleged asked a female student if she was gay, then fondly recalled a lesbian experience she had with another female teacher at the school.
– A male student also said Hendrix asked him about his sexuality.
* And this is no way for a teacher to behave in front of kindergartners. (Just kidding. She’s actually at Southside Middle School.)
* Sometimes you can tell when a teacher is burning out on the job.
* Well, she ought to be a completely different person after 15 days.
* She’s white, and hates white people? Time for her to start “identifying” as black.
* Just to clarify, I think when she says, “I love it, I love it” she really means “I hate it.”
* Just in case there’s any confusion.
* You know this is obviously not good, but we monitor a lot of crazy teacher behavior, and believe me, this is pretty tame.
* No really. I’ve been following the wacky news awhile. I can tell you teacher stories that’ll fry your radio.
