TEACH YOUR KID LIFE SKILLS WHILE YOU’RE STUCK AT HOME
Tired of homeschooling your kid? Looking for something else to do? Teach your children life skills. These are the things your child will really need to function in the world:
1. Cook food. Have them follow a recipe. Make them clean up the mess.
2. Grow something edible. Lettuce, beans, a tomato plant, or potatoes.
3. Drop off donations at a food bank.
4. Have them do the laundry.
5. Show them how to change a tire, and how to jump start the car.
6. Let them replace the furnace filter.
7. Practice using a hammer, a drill and a saw. Build a little birdhouse.
8. Paint a small room.
9. Replace the flapper on the toilet, and explain how it works.
10. Show them how the mower works, and have them mow the lawn.
* So, forced labor. Sweet!!!
* Cook food? No, thanks. Eating the breakfast they make twice a year on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is plenty.
* Practice using a hammer, a drill and a saw. Then practice First Aid.
* You want to teach them REAL real life skills?
– Have them answer and deal with all the junk phone calls.
– Let them go through the junk in the closet or basement and have them decide what to throw out.
– Call the cable company and let them sit on hold until a live person answers.
