TACO BELL EMPLOYEE SHOOTS AT WOMEN TRYING TO SNAG FREE SODA – Apr 30

An employee at a Taco Bell in in West Palm Beach, Florida, allegedly shot at three women who tried to snag free soda from his restaurant. Police said the three women each asked for a cup of water. One of them then walked over to the soda fountain and started filling up her cup with soda. Employee D’Mari Jy’Quan Patterson, 20, started shouting and berating the woman, and then allegedly pulled out a gun and started firing. One woman was hit by a bullet and collapsed to the ground. Another suffered a graze wound, while the third took off out of the restaurant. (* She ran for the border!) Patterson allegedly chased her down and fired another shot in her direction. The two victims were treated for minor injuries. Mr. Patterson was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
* In Miami, being shot at is their way of saying, “Thank you for your purchase.”
* “Would you like an ambulance with that?”
* You’d be cranky too if your parents named you D’Mari Jy’Quan. How many times a year does he hear “Sorry, WHAT did you say your name was?” and “How do you spell that?” and “WHERE did you say the apostrophes go?”
* It’s the broken windows theory of crime. They start by snagging a free soda, then they start taking a few extra napkins, then it’s five packets of taco sauce. You have to nip these things in the bud.
