SURVEY: LOTTERY WINNINGS

A survey of over 1,100 people, commissioned by the Play Pennsylvania lottery, looked at people’s lottery playing habits and how they would react to hitting a jackpot.
– 83% would never tell anybody, not even their own family, they won the lottery jackpot, to avoid being hounded for money.
– If you bought a ticket for someone else, and that other person hit it big for at least $1 million, about half (58%) would expect to get a piece of the win from their co-workers. Only about 40% who bought a winning ticket for a family member would expect them to share.
– If you won a big jackpot, 10% said they’d quit their job on the spot once they found out they won. Three out of five would leave within six months of winning.
– Top 5 Things To Do After Winning The Lottery:
1. Travel the world
2. Pay off debt
3. Become an “artist”
4. Write a book
5. Play video games full-time
* “Play video games full-time.” At last, an honest answer in a survey.
* Why “Pay off debt” instead of “Secretly skip town and move to Costa Rica”?
* They also left out “Quickie divorce.”
* “Write a book.” I know a joke answer when I see it.
