STORY OF WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO TEN BABIES GETS STRANGER
A few days ago, 37-year-old Gosiame Sithole made headlines for giving birth to a record-breaking 10 children at once. Almost immediately there was backlash, most notably because there was no proof of her accomplishment — no photographs, no certification from a doctor, and nobody’s been able to locate the hospital where this happened. And now, the woman’s husband is requesting that people stop donating money to his wife and their 10 new babies, whom he says he still hasn’t seen. In fact, he hasn’t seen his wife since she left home on June 7. Teboga Tsotetsi says, “I appreciate the financial support that we have been getting from members of the public, but I also would like to appeal to the public to stop making money deposits into our accounts until members of the community have seen the babies.” Mr. Tsotetsi said he is excited to eventually meet his children, whenever that may be. Last Wednesday, he accepted over $70,000 in public donations for them in Cape Town.
* Dude, the world is giving you one last chance to get the hell out of there. Take it, and run!
* So he’ll take $70,000, but not any more because that would be… what? Greedy? Demeaning? The difference between misdemeanor and felony larceny?
* Maybe nobody’s seen her ’cause she never gets a break from round-the-clock nursing.
* Or she’s trying to find a sled dog team for a ten-seat stroller.
