STOP TAKING ONLINE POLLS
Police departments around the country are sending out a message: Stop taking online tests and quizzes. Why? Let’s take one:
– Where did you grow up?
– What’s your favorite color?
– What’s your favorite band?
– What was the name of your first pet?
– What street did you grow up on?
– What was your high school mascot?
Et cetera, et cetera… do any of these questions sound familiar? Many of them are password security questions. They just make it easier for someone to guess your passwords and hack into your computer. Police advise you to please don’t allow boredom to make you vulnerable, and avoid playing online ‘games’ or take online ‘tests’ & ‘quizzes’ that ask you to provide personal information.
* Great, now what am I gonna do after the show? I had the afternoon planned.
* I’m confused – are they going to come steal my CD’s of my favorite band?
* Oh, great – my first pet was named QWERTY. All upper case, too. Man, I’m screwed.
* Oh, well. Back to Candy Crush.
