STARBUCKS PLANNING YUUUUUUGE EXPANSION

Starbucks said Wednesday it plans to open 12,000 additional stores globally in the next five years, taking the chain to a total of about 37,000 outlets. Half of the new units will be in the U.S. and China. Kevin Johnson, president and COO of Starbucks, said at the coffee chain’s investor day event in New York, “Demand is there.”
* In that case, can I get one in my kitchen? It would make my mornings go so much faster.
* “Demand is there.” Yeah, some people are tired of having to travel an entire city block to find a Starbucks.
* No wonder the mermaid in the logo is smiling.
* To meet the demand, the left half of South America will be replaced with coffee plants.
* 37,000 outlets? Time for the baristas to form their own union.
* As if America hasn’t woken up and smelled the coffee yet.
* Personally, I gave up going to Starbucks and used the money to buy a new car.
* Everything changed for me when I found out that pumpkin spice lattes only added real pumpkin last year.
* 12,000 new stores, huh? And I bet the CEO wants to add a few more zeros to his compensation package while he’s at it.
* Just when I get over my coffee cake addiction, this happens.
* Have you ever had a Mocha Frappuchino? They’re great and with the venti size you get a free cardiogram.
