SPANISH TOWN BLEACHES THE BEACH
A Spanish municipal official in the coastal town of Zahara de los Atunes thought it would be a good idea to spray the town’s beach with bleach in a misguided attempt to kill the coronavirus before they open the beach back up to the public. The town sent tractors equipped with sprayers to spritz the sands. Environmentalists pointed out what a bad idea that was, as bleach kills everything, and the beach is a living ecosystem, not to mention that the area is a nesting ground for birds, and the tractors can crush the eggs.
* Oh, don’t worry about that. The eggs will be dead from the bleach long before the tractors crush them.
* The official asked how cleaning a beach could be bad when the ocean itself makes its own sponges?
* What’s Spanish for “covidiot”?
* Guy’s a Cloroxymoron.
* On the bright side, there’s now an abundance of whitefish in the local market.
