RUSSIA BANNED FROM THE OLYMPICS FOR DOPING

Russia will be barred from competing in next year’s Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Games after the World Anti-Doping Agency on Monday banned them for four years as punishment for tampering with a Moscow lab database. The agency accused Moscow of falsifying doping data handed over to investigators earlier this year. Under the sanctions, Russian athletes will still be allowed to compete at the Olympics next year but only if they can demonstrate that they were not part of what is believed to be a state-sponsored system of doping. Recently, Russia’s Olympic team was barred from the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, also for doping.
* If at first you don’t succeed …
* Great! This leaves Russia more time to meddle in our election.
* Vladimir Putin denied the charge, then picked up his horse on his shoulders and walked home.
* Somebody didn’t make their bribe to the Olympic Committee big enough.
* An extensive state-backed doping program. What dope came up with that?
* At least it will shorten that boring Entrance of the Athletes parade by about 20 minutes.
