RUNNING OF THE BULLS CANCELED
Spain on Tuesday called off the world-famous Trampling of the Tourists, known locally as the Running of the Bulls, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 400-year-old event held during the San Fermín festival in Pamplona won’t take place in July as planned. Said Ana Elizalde, the acting mayor of Pamplona, “As expected as it was, it still leaves us deeply sad.”
* The bulls are inconsolable.
* The local emergency surgeons aren’t too happy, either.
* People who wanted to participate are encouraged to stay in their homes, lay some wooden chairs on the floor, and run at full speed into the points of the chair legs.
* On the bright side, free steaks for everybody in Pamplona.
