RESTAURANT SERVES 9
There’s a new restaurant in New York City that you’re going to have trouble getting a table at. The restaurant, Mr. Donahue’s, only seats nine people at a time. There are five bar stools and one table for four. Mr. Donahue’s is in the Nolita (North of Little Italy) section of Manhattan. It is the brainchild of married couple Matt Danzer and Ann Redding, who are also behind the hot-spot Thai restaurant Uncle Boons. Mr. Donahue’s is named after one of Danzer’s grandfathers, who is a war veteran and former NYPD officer. The restaurant will feature classic American cooking where diners chose a meat dish and a changing list of sides. The diners eat with antique silver. Later this year, Danzer and Redding hope to double capacity to 18 by adding outdoor seating.
* Also, people could hang from the rungs of the fire escape.
* Maybe it’s not a restaurant. Maybe they mistakenly bought a one-car garage.
* So I’m guessing these two don’t REALLY like to cook all that much.
* Nine people eat there at a time? Arby’s wants to know the secret to their success.
* I question the term “brainchild” here.
* First you order and then they send out to a real restaurant.
* This could work but only if the entrees cost over $11,000 each.
* I’d put that first sentence differently: There’s a new restaurant in New York City that you’re never going to go to ever.
* Who knows? Maybe they serve 100’s with their takeout business.
