PROM GIRL INHALES BOUTONNIERE PIN
One Massachusetts teen had a memorable prom night – she accidentally inhaled a boutonniere pin. Kathleen Garvey, a senior at Wellesley High School, was having trouble pinning the flower on the jacket of her boyfriend, Colin Emerson, so she held the pin in her mouth. Emerson made her laugh with a joke and she inhaled the pin. Garvey didn’t feel any pain and thought the pin may have gotten lost, but went to a hospital as a precaution the next morning. An X-ray revealed the pin was sitting in her bronchial tubes but hadn’t done any real damage. Doctors removed the pin in a 45-minute surgery. Garvey has a sore throat and shortness of breath, but she feels well otherwise.
* She doesn’t sound very sharp.
* So much for women liking guys who can make them laugh.
* Does Colin like to make milk come out her nose, too?
* Sadly, this doesn’t even get her into the Guinness Book of World Records.
* See? This is why I didn’t relate well in high school. I never even heard of a boutonniere.
* Maybe if I had gone to high school in France.
* This is bad, but it’s not even in the top ten for prom stories.
* I will say it’s pretty impressive for it to go this wrong before you even get to the dance.
* Incidentally, the scale goes from 1 to what happened to Ben Stiller’s penis in “There’s Something About Mary.”
