PORCH PACKAGE THIEF FEELS BAD, RETURNS ITEMS THE NEXT DAY
In Dallas, Georgia, a porch pirate thought better of his actions after he was exposed on social media. The man was caught on camera swiping birthday presents off the porch of a Navy intelligence analyst’s home on Monday. Homeowner Eric Truitt said his daughter’s birthday present was inside the package along with another present from her brother. The crime was posted online, and sometime on Tuesday the thief returned some of the stolen items to the home, along with an apology note and some cash. The note read, “So sorry hope this helps. I know I can’t make it right but I want to try.”
* Of course, he robbed a convenience store to get the cash, but it’s the thought that counts.
* Why can’t he make it right? Did he break some of the toys?
* “I’m not returning the dress because it ripped when I was trying it on.”
* Isn’t he really saying, “So sorry you caught me”?
* Personally, I don’t think you want to mess with a Navy intelligence analyst.
* It’s like picking on Gibbs from NCIS.
* Oh, these were birthday gifts. For a sec, I thought they were just late arriving Christmas presents.
* Dallas, Georgia, huh? You know the sad thing? Every fall a few Dallas Cowboys players come to this town by mistake.
* Porch pirates should be forced to walk a plank sticking out the attic window.
