POLL: OLDER PEOPLE WOULD NOW RATHER TEXT THAN PHONE, THANK GOD

A new survey of 2,000 Americans over the age of 65, from senior care company Comfort Keepers, finds one in three now prefer texting to phone calls. Seniors say texting and social media is a great way to bond with their grandkids. Also from the survey:
– One in 10 have surpassed emoji use and now send GIFs to stay in touch with their grandchildren.
– One in five seniors said that their children or grandkids introduced them to Netflix during COVID.
* Now there are fights in the retirement home TV rooms over whether to watch “Sweet Tooth” or “Shadow and Bone.”
* Some seniors don’t watch shows on Netflix. They get stuck for hours on the confusing menus.
* Thank God grandma can text. You don’t know how much time that’s going to save me.
* The nice part about senior texting – if you lose your train of thought, you can just scroll back and see what you were talking about.
