PIZZA BOX MADE OUT OF PIZZA

Vinnie’s Pizzeria in Williamsburg, Brooklyn tweeted out a picture of one of their pepperoni pies in a specially made box crafted from more pizza. The crust is the outside of the box; the inside is the tomato and cheese part. The pizzeria’s owner, Sean Berthiaume, says he was inspired to make the creation when he thought about how many pizza boxes end up in the trash every day. “I thought, ‘What if you can make something that you can eat every part of.'” The restaurant is now offering the pizza-in-a-box-made-of-pizza for around $40. Vinnie’s is still working on a boxless delivery system for the new pie, such as wrapping it in a special foil or a bag. “I like to experiment. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t,” Berthiaume said.

* For example, pizza shoes didn’t work at all.
* Pssst – don’t tell Sean, but all he did was take a calzone and make it rectangular.
* He likes to experiment on the food he serves the public? Fabulous.
* He’s thinking of wrapping it in a special foil or a bag? Hey, this is America. Wrap it in bacon.
* I think this guy’s pizza doesn’t have all its slices, if you know what I mean.
* This is what happens to your brain when you spin dough in the air too long.
* Still waiting for a cure for cancer, but this will do in the meantime.
* Of course, you want the cardboard box touching the outside world – not the part you’re going to eat.
* It does point out why nature is so pristine: No packaging for the food.
* When a lion kills something, it doesn’t come in a big cardboard box shaped like an antelope.
* And a shark doesn’t think, “Let me unwrap this seal. I’m hungry right now.”
* How did a creative thinker like Vinnie ever get stuck in the pizza business?
