PILOT SPILLED COFFEE ON THE CONTROL PANEL

We are just hearing now of an airline incident that happened back in February. A commercial flight with 326 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing when a pilot spilled hot coffee on the cockpit control panel over the Atlantic ocean. The incident happened after a pilot put his coffee cup without a lid on a tray table rather than in a cup holder. The Airbus A330-243 was flying to Cancun, Mexico, from Frankfurt. With the hot liquid causing a strong electrical burning smell and smoke rising from the panel, the captain decided to divert and made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport in Ireland. There were no injuries in the incident. The airline was not identified.
* The best part of waking up is Folgers in your instrument panel.
* Ironically, seeing smoke pouring out of the throttle had the same effect on the pilot as if he’d drank that cup of coffee.
* Well, it’s a nice break from the drunk pilot stories.
* Unless that’s why he needed the coffee.
* Sure, they made an emergency landing, but with that coffee that plane probably could have gone another three hours.
* How is Maxwell House coffee like a Boeing 737 Max? They’re both good to the last drop.
