PERFORMANCE ARTIST LIVING IN WOODEN BALL

Authorities in Grand Rapids, Michigan, pulled the plug providing power to a Michigan man who has been living in a large wooden sphere as part of an art project. Loren Naji had planned to live in the 8-foot spherical “micro home” on the streets of Michigan until Oct. 8 as part of an artistic statement. The sphere is equipped with WiFi and electricity. At least it was, until authorities pulled the plug because the power cord, which had been plugged into a city streetlight across the sidewalk, was causing a tripping hazard. As for his spherical home, Mr. Naji says, “It’s called Emoh, which is home spelled backwards. It’s about our backwards system of vacant houses and homeless people.”
* Po-opmocnin. It’s nincompoop spelled backwards.
* How about our backwards system of calling people like him “artists”?
* Notice he has WiFi. That’s a millennial artist for you. “I’ll suffer for my art, but not without WiFi.”
* You know, I hadn’t been aware of vacant houses and homeless people before, but now that I’ve heard of this guy’s art project … I mean, wow.
* If he’s plugged in across the street why not move the damn thing across the street?
* He made a statement all right. Then the city made their own statement.
* By the way, that’s a great use of the phrase “pulled the plug.” I mean that’s exactly what they did.
* I say sell the large wooden sphere to Lady Gaga. Maybe she can use it in the Super Bowl Halftime show.
