PARIS OLYMPICS TO FEATURE FLYING TAXIS

The city of Paris has announced a program to launch flying passenger drones to be used as taxis during the 2024 Summer Olympics. Pilot testing is already underway on their large-scale electric drone aircrafts which they hope will be used to shuttle sports fans from one Olympic arena to another. They hope to establish two flight paths for air taxis, to allay traffic in the densely populated city during the international event. (* Ah, the old allay “oop.”) Organizers are working to establish air routes between regional heliports, airfields and both the Charles de Gaulle and Le Bourget airports and a to-be-determined landing site somewhere within the city of Paris.
* That’s great, if they hold all the Olympics at heliports, airfields and airports.
* I wouldn’t put a landing site too near the pole vault.
* Is it too soon to set up the office pool for which day we’re going to see the horrible headlines?
* The Paris Olympics is expecting 13.5 million spectators, so shuttling a couple people around in drones will really help.
* I sincerely doubt even a flying car can get anywhere faster than a French taxi driver. Those guys are insane.
