PANTONE’S “COLOR OF THE YEAR” FOR 2021
You wait all year for this: today’s the day. The Pantone Color Institute has named it’s Color of the Year for next year. And in a radical break from tradition, they’ve chosen not one but two colors. Ready? Here they are:
1. Ultimate Gray
2. Illuminating, which is a sort of yellow.
The gray is meant to be interpreted as “solid and dependable” while the yellow is “bright and cheerful.” 2020’s Color of the Year, which will retire undefeated, was Classic Blue, the color of a Pepsi can.
* I bet that really stuck in Coca-Cola’s craw.
* Ultimate Gray? Why has Pantone gone so wild and crazy?
* Well, heck – anything but Facemask Blue.
* 2020’s Color of the Year should have been Dumpster Fire Orange.
